When you undertake a domestic project yourself it can be hard to understand what size skip is right for your project and the last thing you want is to order a skip that is far too big or you could be paying more money unnecessarily.

The smallest size skip we stock is a 4 yard (sometimes referred to as a mini-skip) and these are frequently used in domestic DIY projects around the home and are ideal if you only have a small amount of waste to discard. Our 4 yard skips measure: 101" in length, 61" in width and 36" in height and can hold approximately 40 bin bags. They also have a drop-door option which is perfect for wheeling rubble and soil straight in with a wheelbarrow.

As well as this, they’re also great if you need a small skip to separate items that can’t be mixed with other waste – like drywall or plasterboard.

Mini skips are also easier to fit in smaller spaces or restricted areas.

Next, we have our 6 yard and 8 yard skips (sometimes referred to as midi-skips) which can be cheaper and easier to use than many other types of skip. RF Recycling Group stock vast quantities of 6 and 8 yard skips as they are a great size for domestic and commercial uses alike.

A 6 yard skip measures: 131" in length, 70" in width and 40" in height and is our most versatile as it can also have a drop door or can be provided as a lockable, enclosed skip. An 8 yard skip measures: 134" long by 70" wide and 50" in height.

Midi skips are particularly good for refurbishments or clearouts of any room in your house, a midi skip offers plenty of room for your household waste.

A 10 yard skip comes in at: 138" long by 70" wide and 60" in height and can hold up to 100 standard bin bags while our 12 yard skips hold up to 120 standard bin bags and measure: 153" long by 70" wide and 67" in height and can also be configured as a lockable, secure skip.

What's a drop-door option with the skip?

When you hire a "drop-door" skip from us it means that the skip itself has a hinged door at one end. This is ideal if you have heavy items that would be hard to lift over the sides of the skip, or if you want to simply wheelbarrow your waste straight in to the skip which is ideal for soil and rubble.

Drop doors are available on our 4 yard and 6 yard skips simply add the option during your order and are a brilliant option for commercial and domestic projects alike saving both time and effort getting rid of your waste.
